Compensation: $130-140k DOE + Benefits

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced childcare professional to provide live-in care for an energetic 8-year-old girl. This position requires a background in psychology and education, as well as a genuine passion for treating childcare as a profession. As the primary caregiver, you will work in a rotational schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off, ensuring 365 days of coverage in the household with the other nannies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for the 8-year-old girl, considering her developmental needs and individual interests.
  • Demonstrate expertise in handling sensory issues and creating a supportive environment for the child’s well-being.
  • Collaborate with the child’s homeschooling program and work closely with the on-staff full-time tutors to facilitate her educational growth.
  • Act as a driver for the child’s transportation to and from extracurricular activities, ensuring her safety and punctuality.
  • Facilitate and participate in in-house activities, fostering the child’s creativity, social skills, and overall development.
  • Coordinate with the full-time chef and housekeepers (working 5 days per week) to ensure the smooth running of the household.
  • Handle laundry duties specifically for the girl.
  • Order food when the chef is absent, ensuring the child’s nutritional needs are met.
  • Keep the mother informed and engaged by providing regular updates and sharing photos during her absence.

Requirements:

  • A background in psychology and education is essential to understanding and meeting the child’s developmental needs.
  • Proven experience in live-in childcare positions, demonstrating a commitment to professionalism and long-term dedication.
  • Fluent and well-spoken English language skills for effective communication.
  • Active and energetic, possessing more stamina than a 8-year-old girl to keep up with her lively pace!
  • Formal experience and professional composure are desired attributes.
  • Familiarity with sensory issues and the ability to create a supportive environment for the child’s well-being.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience working with children who are homeschooled is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with tutors, chef, other nannies and housekeepers.
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel locally, as required (minimal travel expected).
