Candidate representation agreement
Terms for candidates using Los Angeles Nannies to assist with referral, representation, and potential employment introductions.
Last updated: June 2026
The Candidate wishes to utilize the services of Los Angeles Nannies (“LAN”) to assist in securing suitable employment with a family or employer.
LAN acts solely as a referral agency. The Candidate understands that LAN introduces potential employment opportunities but does not guarantee placement, employment duration, or job suitability. The Candidate is solely responsible for evaluating any opportunity and deciding whether to accept or continue employment.
No fee
The Candidate does not pay any fee to LAN for application, representation, or placement services.
Notification of employment
Upon receiving an offer of employment from any family introduced by LAN, the Candidate agrees to notify LAN promptly.
The Candidate further agrees not to begin employment with any family introduced by LAN without confirming with LAN that the placement process has been completed. The Candidate acknowledges that this requirement is necessary to ensure proper coordination of placements and to maintain the integrity of LAN’s referral process.
Availability and communication
The Candidate agrees to maintain open and timely communication with LAN, including:
- responding to calls, texts, and emails within a reasonable timeframe
- attending scheduled interviews and meetings
- providing feedback following interviews
If the Candidate becomes unavailable for work, accepts another position, or changes their employment status, they agree to notify LAN promptly. Failure to maintain reasonable communication or professionalism may result in removal from LAN’s network.
Clear communication expectations are standard in agency relationships to ensure efficient matching and placement outcomes.
Candidate representation and accuracy
The Candidate represents that all information provided to LAN, including experience, references, certifications, and qualifications, is accurate and complete.
The Candidate agrees to update LAN promptly with any changes to availability, employment status, certifications, or contact information.
The Candidate agrees not to misrepresent their experience, references, or credentials to LAN or to any prospective employer. Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from consideration.
Background check
The Candidate agrees to undergo a background check conducted by LAN through a third-party provider. The Candidate authorizes LAN to conduct such screening and confirms that all information provided is truthful and complete.
The Candidate agrees to disclose any information that may affect eligibility for employment and understands that falsification or omission may result in removal from LAN’s network.
Referral policy
The Candidate agrees not to independently refer other candidates or individuals directly to any family that has engaged LAN for placement services without LAN’s involvement.
LAN offers referral incentives and programs at its discretion for candidates who refer families or other candidates through proper channels.
Non-circumvention agreement
The Candidate acknowledges that any introduction to a family made by LAN constitutes a referral by LAN.
The Candidate agrees not to bypass LAN or engage directly with any family introduced by LAN for employment purposes outside of LAN’s process. This restriction applies for a period of twelve (12) months following the most recent introduction, interview, or communication regarding the opportunity.
The Candidate further agrees not to take any action intended to avoid, interfere with, or undermine LAN’s role in facilitating the placement. Candidate ownership and non-circumvention clauses are commonly used in recruiting agreements to prevent bypassing the agency after introduction.
Agency role and employer responsibility
The Candidate understands that LAN is solely a referral service and is not a party to any employment agreement between the Candidate and a family.
The family is fully responsible for compensation, payroll and tax withholdings, work conditions, and supervision.
LAN does not guarantee the conduct, behavior, or performance of any employer and shall not be held liable for any actions or omissions of the family. The Candidate accepts full responsibility for deciding whether to accept or remain in any position.
Legal authorization to work
The Candidate affirms that they are legally authorized to work in the United States unless otherwise disclosed and agreed upon in advance.
CPR and First Aid certification
The Candidate agrees to hold a valid CPR, First Aid, and AED certification from a recognized provider at the time of hire, unless otherwise stated in the job description.
Payment method
The Candidate understands that compensation will be provided by the employer through payroll and not in cash, unless otherwise agreed in writing between the Candidate and employer in compliance with applicable laws.
Residency requirement
The Candidate must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered for employment opportunities.
Termination of representation
LAN reserves the right to remove the Candidate from its network at any time for lack of responsiveness, misrepresentation of information, unprofessional conduct, or failure to comply with this Agreement.
Removal from LAN’s network may result in loss of access to future job opportunities through LAN.
